A bit about me
Hello I am Matt Hood an Oxford based Photographer. I fell in love with photography in my early twenties when I was living in Paris. I worked in a brasserie called Le Petit Fer a Cheval(the little horseshoe)where I met many artists and photographers who literally blew open my mind.
I became great friends with Alécio de Andrade who was a Magnum photographer. I used to go for long walks with him and he inspired me with his helpful feedback and funny anecdotes. These were the days of analogue cameras and I bought 200 rolls of Ilford black and white film and travelled to India looking for stories ... more on that another time.

When I got back to Oxford my son was born and my life changed forever. My photography focused more on family life, but now he is older I have more time to pursue my passion for photography.
I have worked at the Cherwell Boathouse for years and it has been the back drop for many of my photos.
It has been the place where I have continued to be inspired, to hone my skills in photography.

I love taking pictures of people and whether it is a wedding, an event or a collection of portraits
I feel honoured to be entrusted to capture people's special memories.

I also make a mean Curry and can take a decent picture of it too.
